Comenzará una investigación en la Colonia Berro

Suárez. En menos de una semana, dos adolescentes de la Colonia Berro debieron ser internados en centros asistenciales. Uno de ellos recibió supuestos malos tratos por parte de funcionarios y el otro por haber ingerido pastillas somníferas tras burlar el control de los trabajadores.
Fuentes del INAU afirmaron a El País que un grupo de funcionarios agremiados del Hogar SER -centro de máxima seguridad- concurrieron al despacho del gerente del Sistema de Ejecución de Medidas a Jóvenes en Infracción (Semeji), Jorge Jouroff, para denunciar a un jerarca del establecimiento por supuestamente haber golpeado a un interno.
En la reunión, Jouroff les reclamó a los gremialistas que presentaran una denuncia por escrito, la que ingresaron en la víspera.
Según la denuncia del sindicato, el menor se fugó días atrás de la Colonia Berro y fue atrapado por la guardia policial. Tras los trámites de rigor con la Justicia de Menores, el adolescente retornó al Hogar SER donde habría sido golpeado por el funcionario. A los dos días lo llevaron al médico y este constató que el adolescente tenía dos costillas rotas además de contusiones varias, señalaron los denunciantes.
Las fuentes indicaron que el diagnóstico de un médico forense de Canelones coincidió con la conclusión arribada por el profesional de la Berro.
En forma simultánea, los familiares del menor también se pronunciaron en el mismo sentido que los funcionarios denunciantes del Hogar SER, agregaron.
Otras fuentes del INAU afirmaron que el próximo lunes comenzará una investigación en la Colonia Berro para constatar si el menor recibió o no agresiones de un funcionario del Hogar SER.
AL CTI. A diferencia del Hogar SER, el Hornero es un hogar abierto. El lunes 8, un menor volvió de su licencia y logró burlar la vigilancia ingresando un paquete de pastillas somníferas. Los jóvenes acostumbran esconder drogas y somníferos en los arbustos cercanos al hogar y luego cruzan la entrada esperando el control. Ya dentro del hogar, buscan y retiran la mercadería prohibida y la ingresan a sus celdas llevándola escondida entre sus ropas. Poco después de que el menor ingresó al hogar, un funcionario lo encontró desmayado.
Según las fuentes, enseguida se dio el alerta y el joven fue asistido por un médico. Luego una ambulancia lo trasladó a un CTI de un hospital público ingresando en coma. Pocos días después, el joven se recuperó.
